Mahomet Quarry
The Mahomet quarry, operated by Stark Materials, is located on the north side of Mahomet, IL with easy accessed off IL Route 47, ¼ mile north of Providence Drive. Click here for a map of the area.
The raw material is extracted by dredge and fed into a 20' dewatering wheel before it is fed into a multi-staged wash plant. The dewatering wheel, the only one of its kind operating in Illinois, allows us to extract the deposit by dredge while also utilizing a low profile wash plant to comply with zoning requirements. The material is sold to Stark Excavating and a variety of other contractors and customers in east-central Illinois.
